Major Julie Peart (Rehabilitation Lead) from the British Army conducts cooling tests over 4 weeks.
Fastest 100m swimming times measured:
Julie swam 19 secs faster (18.1% improvement) when cooling her palms with the lightweight sleeve, at a surface temperature of 10.2°C / 50.4°F.
Cooling lasted 1 minute 45 seconds between sets.
Once again, all cooling methods led to increased speed.
COOLING TEMPERATURE STUDY: STRENGTH
Over a four week trial, Marlie lifted 60% more reps when she cooled both palms and neck to a surface temperature between 8-12°C/46-54°F.
For Marlie, all cooling led to performance gains.
Cooling was applied for 2 minutes between sets, with different sleeves to adjust surface temperature.
